IN LOVING MEMORY

CALLED HOME
On November 30, the Lord called out from this world the soul of our brother, Dale Berndt. We pray for the Lord to comfort Dale’s family during this time of grief and to lead all of us to rejoice in the sure hope of the resurrection to eternal life. Christian Funeral for Dale was held on November 30 at St. Paul Hillsboro campus.
ADVENT WORSHIP
We will be holding a special Advent service of lessons and carols on Wednesday, December 13. Join us for time in God's Word as we prepare our hearts for the celebration of our Savior's birth. Services times are 4:00pm Wonewoc Campus, 6:30pm Hillsboro Campus.
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS SERVICE – DECEMBER 17
The children’s Christmas service will be held on Sunday, December 17, at 4:00pm. There will be only a single service.
CHRISTMAS EVE/DAY WORSHIP
On Sunday December 24, morning services will be at 8:00 and 10:30 as usual. Then there will be the Christmas Cantata at Wonewoc at 4:00pm and a Christmas Eve contemplative worship service at 6:30pm in Hillsboro. Christmas Day worship will take place at 8:00am in Hillsboro and 10:30am in Wonewoc.
POINSETTIAS
If anyone is interested in having a poinsettia on the altar in memory of a loved one for Christmas, please let Jan Fick know by December 18 so that your information can go in the bulletin. If you ordered from Blossoms and Bouquets, we already have the info.
GIVING TREE
St. Paul’s students are asking for your help as they gather personal care items for area food pantries. Special needs are toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, hair care products and feminine products. Laundry soap, fabric softener, dish soap and other cleaning supplies are always a need also. If you would like to help, you can bring items to be placed under our school tree until December 17th.
CHILDRENS’ CHRISTMAS TREAT BAGS
Each year we provide a Christmas treat bag to all children attending Christmas services. This year it will be for the children's service on December 17 and for those attending Christmas Eve or Christmas Day services If you would like to help provide treats for these bags, you can leave a gift in the free-will offering box in the church entry this week. Thank you.
WORSHIP SURVEY
A survey has been put together by the pastors and elders looking for feedback on various aspects of our worship practices. Now that we are almost two years into our use of the new hymnal, we want to gather information on how the introduction process has gone, as well as other aspects of our worship services. Paper copies are available at church, or you can fill out the survey online by going to stpaulhw.com/worshipsurvey.
