TEACHER CALLS

At the voters’ meeting on Monday, February 19, a call was extended to Mr. Justus Kupsky to serve as our 7-8 grade teacher.  He is currently teaching at Zion in Valentine, Nebraska.  Miss Meredith-Moeller currently holds the call to serve as our 5-6th grade teacher.  Miss Moeller is a teacher at St. Matthew’s in Janesville where she teaches grades 3 & 4. Please keep both servants of Christ in prayer as they deliberate where they can best serve the Savior as a teacher.  

PASTOR CALL

A call meeting was held on February 21 and the voters extended a call to Pastor David Schneider.  Pastor Schneider is currently serving at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Universal City, TX. Please prayer for Pastor Schneider and family as he deliberates this call the Lord has placed before him.

NEW ADULT BIBLE STUDY BEGAN FEBRUARY 18

A new Bible study has begun.  It is entitled “Reading Revelation – Principles for Interpretation.” Revelation has a reputation as a confusing, even frightening, book of the Bible. But it doesn’t need to be. In this study, we’ll practice principles for interpreting Scripture, especially the symbolic language found in Revelation and throughout God’s Word, as we discover the comfort Christ reveals for his church now and forever. Bible study takes place every Sunday morning at 9:15am and is held at both campuses.

EASTER LILY ORDERS

We have received information regarding Easter flowers from Blossoms and Bouquets in Wonewoc. You can pick up the info and order forms on the table in back. Blossoms and Bouquets offers a discount if you order before March 8.  You can return them in the offering plate, and we will get them to Blossoms. If you wish to purchase flowers elsewhere, and would like a memorial in the bulletin, please let Jan Fick know by calling 464-3212 or email office@stpaulhw.com by March 22.

BUTTER BRAIDS™ ARE COMING!

St. Paul’s school students are taking orders for Butter Braids.  These tasty pastries bake up light and flaky and come in several flavors. Proceeds from this all-school fundraiser go directly to the school to benefit all students.  Last year’s proceeds were used to add some new activity equipment to our school playground.  There is an order form in back. Orders must be placed by February 26.  Delivery is March 11 in time for Easter breakfast!

SNYDER FAREWELL MARCH 24

On March 24, we are holding a special worship service with a lunch to follow as we say farewell and God’s blessings to Pastor Snyder and Jenell. They are beginning a new chapter in serving the Savior at St. John Lutheran in Lewiston, MN.  The short worship service will begin around 12:00 noon and then the lunch will follow.  The meat course is being provided and members are asked to contribute sides, salads etc.  There will also be a box for cards at that time if anyone would like to express a personal sentiment to the Snyders.
