QUARTERLY VOTERS’ MEETING

The quarterly voters’ meeting will be held on November 5 at the Hillsboro campus at 10:00am.    Items on the agenda include membership changes, elections to the Board of Trustees and presentation of potential changes to the by-laws regarding the School Board. NOTE: In order to make it easier for everyone to attend, there is only one worship service that day, at Hillsboro, at 9:00am.  Bible Study will take place at 8:00am that Sunday; there will be no Sunday School.

FALL BACK

Daylight Saving Time ends on November 5th, so remember to turn your clocks back on November 4th before you retire for the night.  (Otherwise, you’ll be REALLY early for worship)!

ADULT BIBLE STUDY

We offer a variety of Bible study classes during the year. Whether young or old, experienced Christian or curious observer, join us as we take time to learn more of God’s Word for us together., Bible Study meets weekly at both campuses at 9:15. The current topic, through December 24, is “The Smalcald Articles and Contemporary Catholicism.” The Smalcald Articles, written by Martin Luther, are one of the key confessions of the Lutheran church. In this two-in-one study, we will review the Bible teachings summarized in the articles; we will also examine what the Roman Catholic Church teaches about these things. Our study will help us to recognize that the false teachings found at the time of the Reformation are still the position of the Roman Catholic Church today, and we’ll see how we can respond in love with the truth of God’s Word.

WORSHIP SURVEY

A survey has been put together by the pastors and elders looking for feedback on various aspects of our worship practices. Now that we are almost two years into our use of the new hymnal, we want to gather information on how the introduction process has gone, as well as other aspects of our worship services. Paper copies are available at church, or you can fill out the survey online by going to stpaulhw.com/worshipsurvey.

Dear Families and Friends of St. Paul’s School, 

As many of you have heard, at the end of September Brandon and I got engaged. With our marriage comes the decision to step down as teacher at the end of the 23-24 school year and move to Sioux Falls, SD with my future husband. God has truly blessed me while at St. Paul’s with new friends, acquiring new skills, amazing students, and a supportive church family. I am thankful that he has brought me to Wonewoc to begin my ministry. I trust he will find new ways for me to serve him no matter where I go. I pray the Lord will bless and guide Brandon and I as we grow closer through marriage and begin a new family. St. Paul’s school will continue to be in my prayers as we finish the school year.
