2023 CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS
If you haven’t gotten your 2023 contribution statement, either by email or paper copy, please contact the church office at 608-464-3212. Emails are coming from automail@360members.com. You might want to check your spam folder if you don’t see an email and are expecting one. This is a new process for us, so please bear with us, there have been some problems with attachments in a few cases. We encourage all members to have an email on file in the data base. If you want to provide an email, you can note it on the friendship register when you sign it on Sundays. Emails are kept private and not shared unless you give permission.
QUARTERLY VOTERS MEETING
The quarterly voters’ meeting will be held on February 4 at 10:00am at the Wonewoc Campus. Agenda items include membership changes and possible changes to by-laws for the Board of Education and Cemetery Board. Please note there is only one service that day at 9:00am. Bible study will take place at 8:00am. There is no Sunday School.
TEACHER CALL
The Board of Education has issued a call to Mr. John Schleis, currently serving at Trinity Lutheran School in Kiel, WI. to teach grades 5-6. Please keep Mr. Schleis and his family in your prayers as he deliberates this call to serve.
DIVINE CALL ACCEPTANCE
Pastor Snyder has accepted his call to serve at St. John Lutheran Church of Lewiston, MN. We thank God for Pastor Snyder’s years of service as our pastor and Jenell’s years of service as a teacher in our school, and we pray for God’s blessings as they prepare to move and begin this new phase of life and ministry in Lewiston. Plans for a call meeting will be determined in the coming weeks.
BIBLE INFORMATION CLASS STARTING FEBRUARY 8
A new session of New Life in Christ will begin soon. This course introduces foundational Bible teachings and is suited both to those interested in becoming members of the congregation and to members looking for a catechism refresher. Classes will be held on Thursdays at 6:00pm at the Wonewoc Campus beginning February 8.
DISCIPLESHIP TEAM MEETING OPPORTUNITY
Those interested in learning more about the Discipleship Team, a group that helps members of the congregation to remain connected to God’s Word, are invited to come to the Elders meetings to learn more about the Team and discuss its work. Discipleship Team discussions happen at the start of the meeting, and you do not need to stay the whole time. The next Elders meeting is February 3 at 8:30am at the Wonewoc Campus.
TRIVIA NIGHT – FEBRUARY 10
Panther Parents is sponsoring a Trivia Night on February 10, 2024 at the Wonewoc Legion Hall. If you enjoy trivia, this might be the event for you. There is a registration fee of $120 per team that includes a chili meal. You can have up to 8 players on a team. Check the poster in the narthex for more info and click here to register or contact Rachel at rwobschall@gmail.com or 608-415-0287. Proceeds will be divided between St. Paul’s School and the Wonewoc American Legion .
WORSHIP SURVEY
A survey has been put together by the pastors and elders looking for feedback on various aspects of our worship practices. Now that we are almost two years into our use of the new hymnal, we want to gather information on how the introduction process has gone, as well as other aspects of our worship services. Paper copies are available at church, or you can fill out the survey online by going to stpaulhw.com/worshipsurvey.
