Announcements: May 19
CALLED HOME
On Tuesday, May 14, our Lord summoned to his side the soul of his servant Barbara Santas, age 84. A Christian Funeral service was held on Saturday, May 18 at 11:00am at the Hillsboro campus. May those who mourn find comfort in the eternal promise of the Lord’s Gospel.
CONFIRMATION
Sunday we will be celebrating the Rite of Confirmation for 3 young people during the 10:30am service. The 2024 confirmands are Aiden Frick, Matthew Roloff and Gabriel Wolfe. One more student, Brynley Burns, was confirmed at St. Paul’s, Mauston on May 5. Congratulations to all the confirmands and God’s continued blessings on this milestone in their faith journey.
DIVINE CALLS
Pastor Matthew Kuske has returned the call to serve as associate pastor. We thank Pastor Kuske for his time in deliberation. We have requested the assignment of a Seminary graduate; the Seminary assignment service is May 23.
We have also requested a graduate assignment from Martin Luther College for a 5-6 grade teacher. The MLC assignment service is this Saturday.
POTLUCK AND FAREWELL FOR THE PETERSONS
On Sunday, June 2, we will be saying farewell, thank you, and Godspeed to Ashley and Sydney Peterson who will both be leaving to serve their Lord elsewhere. Join us for a meal after the 10:30am service in Wonewoc. Meat will be provided and if you can, please bring a side or dessert to pass.
CHANGE FOR LIFE
Again, this year, our congregation is participating in the Change for Life Program to support the ministry of New Beginnings – A Home for Mothers. New Beginnings is a WELS based ministry that helps single mothers pave the way to self-sufficiency in a Christ-centered home. Pick up a baby bottle, take it home and have everyone in your household fill it with their spare change. On Father’s Day, return the filled bottle to church where the money collected will be sent to help the mothers and babies at New Beginnings.
